Eifion tucks into his Worker's Breakfast
Eifion tucks into his “Worker’s Breakfast” of scrambled eggs on toast;  he says his brain will be scrambled, having to work with Dai.
He is not keen on the contents of this box
He is not impressed with the healthy lunch that Angela packs for him.
"You did me a favour by sacking me!"
Gwyneth seems happy when Megan sees her, and says, “You did me a favour by sacking me!   Thank you!”   Megan glowers after her.
Dai finds a suitably dirty job for Eifion
As soon as Eifion arrives at APD, Dai presents him with a set of drain rods;  “I hope you know where to stick these,” he says.   Eifion can think of a few places, but presumes he wants them down the drain.
Dai tells Diane there may be a blockage, but she insists the only blockage is in his head.
"I have to show him who's boss!"
Dai replies, “I have to show him who’s boss;  we don’t want him acting the gentleman farmer round here, and the sooner he realises, the better!”
The Patagonian visitor arrives
A Deri Deithio taxi pulls up outside the Deri, with Ed driving, and a stranger alights, Gabriela, all the way from Patagonia;  Ed is surprised that she knows the new licensee of the pub is Siôn, whom she has met online.
Inside, Siôn says, “It’s good to meet you at last,” and hugs her.   As Siôn  shows her to her room, Ed is not sure that Sioned will be pleased about her arrival.
Megan had bought herself lilies . . .
It is Megan’s birthday, and she has bought herself some lilies;  she asks Diane for a favour, as a councillor.   She advises that Gwyneth has set up a business in her home and employs Sioned, in contravention of Health and Safety rules.
. . . and virtually threatens Diane
“I’d like you to tell them to find a more suitable workplace, or to cease trading,” Megan virtually orders Diane, and adds that if she were to make an official complaint about the matter, “It could ruin your reputation as a councillor.”
Ed is running the taxis and the café
Ed is helping out in the café as Gwen is not there, and Debbie has gone to the shop.
"Who's that out there with the camera?"
When Debbie returns she asks who it is, taking photos outside, and Ed tells her, “It’s Siôn’s new friend, he met online, from Patagonia,” and Debbie immediately thinks of a dating website.
Siôn, meanwhile, is introducing Gabriela Gonzalez to Sioned, and we learn that she spent two years teaching Welsh at a school.   She is in the village as part of Menter Patagonia (Patagonia Enterprise), and is studying modern Welsh life.   “You’re in the wrong place – this village is stuck in the last century,” is Sioned’s comment.
Sioned is not pleased that someone else will be living upstairs
Then, as she takes a photograph of Sioned, Siôn tells her that Gabriela is staying upstairs, which, as Ed suspected, does not go down well.
Diane gives Eifion a cup of tea, but Dai again complains he is not working on the drains.
The turkey pictures go up on the wall
“I think we’ll have Delyth for Christmas!” says Diane, showing Dai pictures of some of Penrhewl’s turkeys.
Eifion comes in the back way to finish his tea
Meanwhile, Eifion has gone outside, but as soon as Dai follows, he nips in through the back door, to finish his tea.
Diane breaks the unwelcome news to Gwyneth
Diane then goes to break the news to Gwyneth that she cannot use her home for the business, and there has been a complaint.
Neither Gwyneth nor Sioned are pleased
“Megan - there is no end to her poison!” snarls Gwyneth, “You know how she exaggerates!”
Megan, having blown out her candle
In the café, Gabriela is introduced to Debbie, and Megan, who has been presented with a free cake bearing a candle, invites Gabriela to join her.
Ed is pleased with even a couple of shifts
Ed reasons with Debbie that it is difficult to cope when Gwen is off, and she agrees to give him a couple of shifts a week as a trial.
Pictures of Ceridwen and Delyth, the Penrhewl turkeys
“As your first job, put these up,” she says, handing him more of Jim’s turkey pictures.
Eifion is eating chips for his lunch, and empties Angela’s lunchbox into the bin.
Dai will be having a "proper lunch"
Dai says he will check the drain work when he comes back from a proper lunch at the Deri.
Gwynfor, being photographed for posterity . . .
At the Deri, Gabriela takes a photo of Gwynfor at the bar, and Siôn suggests he tries a pint of the new Welsh beer, “Seren Senni”.
. . . and suspicious of this fancy new beer
When Dai arrives, Siôn tells him it contains various citrus flavours.   Gwynfor sniffs suspiciously at his pint, but then begins drinking it.   Dai complains, “If I want fruit, I’ll go to the shop, or Llanelli Market.
"I like my beer to taste like beer!"
I like my beer to taste like beer!”
Sioned, peeling carrots
Upstairs, Sioned is peeling carrots as she tells Ed, “It’s not right, having someone else staying here!  He should have discussed it with us.”
"I'm not happy with that Spaniard living here"
Then Siôn comes up and Sioned gives her opinion, “I’m not happy about that Spaniard living here!”
"It's up to me what I do with my spare rooms"
“Siôn calmly replies, “She’s not Spanish, and she has a name, Gabriela.   It’s up to me what I do with my spare rooms.”
Sioned’s wrath is now roused, and she stomps downstairs, where Megan and Gabriela are chatting.
"I know you're a nasty witch!"
She confronts Megan, “Don’t play the innocent!   I know you’re a nasty witch!”   When Gabriela urges her to stop, Sioned continues, “Now you live here, do you think you can tell me what to do?”
Siôn warns her to calm down . . .
Siôn warns her to be sensible, or he will ban her from the bar, and after Gabriela tells him, “Good idea, Siôn,” he does so.
. . . and then tells her she is barred
“Right, you’re barred!”
Gabriela comments to Megan, “It’s obvious who wears the trousers here – there’s something attractive about a strong man!”   Siôn hears this with some embarrassment.
"Yes, I enjoyed my lunch"
Angela arrives home and Eifion tells her how he enjoyed his lunch;  “Diane was nice to me,” he says, and thinks he may be there for a while.
Eifion is up to something
Then he smiles and appears to be planning something.
